Every year at Tom Hawthorn Music, I have lots of people booking drum lessons for friends, family, and loved ones who’ve always wanted to play the drums—but never quite taken the leap. In my experience, the people who have always wanted to learn the drums often need someone close to them, to give them the kick to actually give it a go. This time of year I’m always receiving emails asking if I offer trial lessons as a present for a friend/loved one who has ‘always wanted to play the drums’ but never taken the leap.
Even if the person you’re buying for has never touched a drum kit, they’ll be welcomed and supported. I make sure lessons are friendly and fun and there is always the option for a cup of tea or coffee!!
3. Any age, any stage of life welcome!
I’ve had people buy drum lessons as a present for Christmas, birthdays, retirement, uni graduation and all sorts of reasons. The age range is hugely varied with some pupils starting their drumming journeys in the their 60’s, and others buying for siblings/friends in their teens and 20’s. Everyone is welcome and there is no obligation to sign up for extended periods of time.
Adult life is busy and we all go through periods where we can spend more time on our hobbies and passions, and then periods where we can’t. Because of this my lessons can be booked to suit the pupil and you are in control of when the lessons are. My online booking system means you can just book whenever suits you/the person you’re buying for.
