Back Chat Brass have been continuing their Back Chat Play series, and this week it's time to give the drummer some.

Calling all young musicians! Back Chat Brass have launched a new play along series - BACK CHAT PLAY.

On March 4th 2020, I was sat on a plane on the way to Manilla, Philippines, to play for a wedding with my band Back Chat Brass. We were all looking forward to a few days away, having just completed two busy months of education work, where we had been working with children in Darlington primary schools.

By far one of the best things as a drum teacher is seeing your pupils turn pro!

This book is another one I have had since pretty much the beginning, and although I don’t really ‘practice’ what is in it, I find it a great teaching tool for developing an awareness of different rhythms and sticking applications.

It’s been such a fun month for me in the studio, as I’ve been able to welcome back one-to-one pupils and also invite some new drummers to come and try out lessons. It’s made me realise how much I’ve missed teaching, and how much I enjoy talking about drumming and music with pupils who are keen to improve and learn.
